HOW TO BECOME A CHRISTIAN
- Admit that you are a sinner and hopelessly lost before God. As it is written: there is no one righteous, no, not even one…..for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Rom. 3:11-18, 23. We have all broken God’s Law, the Ten Commandments. And sin has wages: The wages of sin is death (Hell Fire). Rom. 6:23. Rev. 21:8. God does not want us damned so He sent His Son Jesus Christ to die on our behalf. John 3:16. Acts 17:30-31, Acts 4:12.
- Believe what the Bible says about you and that God sent Jesus Christ to save you. He took your place as a sinner and died in your place and paid the full penalty for sin. He died and was buried and was raised and is alive now forever, to speak to God on your behalf. “He is able to save to the uttermost them that come to God by Him.” Hen.7:25, 1Corinth.15:1-5, 1John 2:1-2.
- CONFESS you are a sinner before God and claim His pardon which He has already provided in Jesus Christ. Then accept God’s statement in the Bible that whosoever believes has eternal life. NOW admit, Believe, and Confess. Then fully confess your decision before all everyone. God says: “If you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved.” Rom.10:9-10; 1John 1:9; John 1:11-12.
- Declare your determination before God and men to live now for the Lord Jesus daily. Satan will seek to persuade you not to fully dedicate yourself to Jesus Christ, but you will not enjoy being a half-hearted Christian.
HOW TO LIVE A CHRISTIAN LIFE
- Read your Bible daily and believe firmly the entire Word at all times. Claim the promises of God for yourself. They are meant for you, and can be yours as you claim them by FAITH. 2 Peter 1:1-4, 2 Corinth.1:20, Heb. 10:23-39, Gal. 5:16-26.
- Obey the Word of God and ask to be baptized by immersion in water according to the Bible. Rom.6:1-23. This is your public confession that you have forsaken the old life and way of living. You are identifying with Jesus death, burial and resurrection to walk in the newness of life. Your old life is being buried in watery grace as it were, and rising from the water is like resurrection to new life in Christ Jesus. Col. 3:1-17.
- Pray to God daily as your heavenly Father, in the Name of Jesus, asking Him to guide you, protect you and bless you in your daily work and activities at all times. John 16:23-26; Phil. 4:5-6; 1 Peter 2:2.
- Avoid temptations and shun evil companions. Read Psalm 1:1-6; Prov.1:10-16; 1Tim.4:6-16. Resist sin and Satan and he will flee from you. Keep company with God’s people and seek at all times to help others and be a blessing to them. Rom. 12, 1Corinth. 13, Col. 3:5-10
- Seek for the Baptism of the Holy Spirit which God has promised to all who ask and thirst. John 7:37, Acts 1:8, Lk.11:13, Acts 2:4, 38-39, act 5:32.
- Attend church and group meetings regularly and seek to join in with all evangelical activities. Matt. 28:19-20, 2 Cor.6:1,2, 2Tim.2:15-17, Heb.10:25.
- Seek God for the continual fullness of the Holy Spirit and the gifts of the Holy Spirit and seek to be submissive in His hands to be a channel for their operation. 1Cor.12, Gal.5:16-26, Luke 11:13, Luke 24:49, acts2:38-39, Ephes.6:10-18, 1Thes.5:19.
- Recognize at all times your own weakness and failings and confess them daily to the Lord, asking and claiming His pardon and power to overcome them. 1Cor.10:12-13, 1Peter1:3-5
- Live in daily expectation that the Lord will use you to win souls and lead others into the victorious Christian life you have learned to enjoy yourself. 2Cor.5:17-21, 1John3:1-4.

HOW TO BE A SUCCESSFUL PRAYER
One of the most important parts of every Christian’s life is that of PRAYER and FASTING. Matt. 9:37-38, 1Tim. 2:1-4, Acts 13:1-3.
God wants to use every Christian in prayer. It is the prayer that the Holy Spirit inspires that God the Father answers. Rom. 8:26.
There are different kinds of prayer
- Personal Prayers (Private). This kind of prayer should be praise and worship of God with reverent meditation so that we can secure guidance, refreshment of spirit and food from the Word of God. Matt. 6:6, Ps.100:4, Ps.19:14.
- Family or group prayer and worship. This should be practiced in every family so that all can be protected and prayed for regularly. “Train a child in the way he should go.”
- Congregational Prayers. These prayers should be constructive and not personal or selfish. We are exhorted to pray for our government, God’s servants and their ministries, or those in need of deliverance and salvation; that God would thrust out laborers into His work; for all the members of the Lord’s Church (Body). 1Tim.2:1-2, Acts4:29, Acts 12:5, 12; Matt.9:37-38, Eph.6:18.
- Intercessory Prayers. This is praying for others. Every believer is called to be a priest which means that we are called to intercede for others. Isa. 59:16, 1Sam.12:23, James 5:16, Rev. 1:6, Rom. 8L26.
- Travailing Prayer.
This is true Holy Spirit prayer in which we agonize and remain in prayer for ourselves and others, to cause changes in lives and conditions and to secure spiritual equipment in the warfare of the spiritual world. Eccl.3:10, Heb. 5:7, Gal.4:19, James 5:14-17.
We are to pray personally, secretly and privately. We are to pray together. (Matt.18:19) and in groups and to claim the promises God has made to us, by prevailing prayer…for ourselves and others. 1John5:14-15. We are not to BEG GOD… we are to claim His promises and act on them. Isa. 45:11.
PRAYER IS SPIRITUAL WARFARE
Eph.5:10-11, Eph.6:10-20
Our warfare is spiritual and we can only overcome the enemy in the spiritual and with spiritual weapons and in prayer. The Holy Spirit gives us power and guidance to pray and fight the forces of darkness. 2Cor.10:4-5.
The spiritual battle is mainly a battle of words….words of command, words of power in the Spirit. The Sword of the Lord is prayer and words. (Rev.1:16). Prayer should consist of words of praise, worship, claiming and command.
PAYER AND FASTING.
Fasting is voluntarily refraining from food and drink for a time to give us the opportunity to ourselves to praying for a special matter. This should mainly be for others as well as for ourselves. Its is often necessary to fast for deliverance fro others and against the forces of darkness. Zach.7:5, Acts 13:2, Matt. 4:3, Acts 9:9.
BENEFITS OF FASTING
- It brings deliverance for others and ourselves. Isa. 58:6.
- It disciplines the body. 1Cor.9:27.
- It releases faith for healing. 3John 2, Isa, 58:8.
- It gives power to our prayers. Ezra 8:23.
- It purges the spirit. Psalm 35:13.
